Cleaning your pride‑and‑joy should be satisfying, not stressful. That’s why we designed the Microfibre Mop with Waterflow, to make car cleaning more enjoyable.
In this article, we’ll break down the mop, bust the myths, and explain why it’s becoming very popular.
What is the AVA Microfibre Mop?
The AVA Microfibre Mop is a pressure washer attachment with built-in water flow and a soft microfibre pad. It fits on the end of an AVA Zoom Lance or Telescopic Lance and works with Karcher pressure washers. The head constantly pushes water through the small holes in the pad at a low pressure (about 5 to 6 bar).
This rinses away dirt as you clean and keeps the fibres clean. The mop head gently lifts dirt and debris from delicate surfaces like car paint and glass without causing damage.
When you pair it with the correct cleaning solution (eg. using the AVA Premium Foam Cannon to apply AVA Foam Cleaner), the flowing water helps agitate and distribute the detergent evenly so you get a deeper clean without extra effort.
The mop comes with a microfibre pad designed for light‑to‑medium dirt and you can swap in other pads (gentle, dual‑action or heavy‑duty) for specific jobs. A flexible joint makes sure the pad stays flush to the surface as it glides, and because the water flow continually rinses the fibres, the pad stays cleaner for longer. Plus, chuck the microfibre pads in the washing machine after use so they’re ready for the next clean.

Addressing the Elephant in the Room
When you’re car cleaning, using the AVA Microfibre Mop will be safer than using a wash mitt in a bucket (if used correctly). There is no doubt that a hand wash (when doing a deep clean on a car) is essential but this is always carried out as part of a process.
The hand wash usually happens after the initial pre-wash that typically removes 90% of dirt. By introducing the Mop Flow at this stage instead of the hand mitt, you further reduce the risk of scratches.
Why?
The constant flow of water passing through the head is rinsing the remaining dirt away.
With a hand wash and bucket, you are rinsing in an already contaminated bucket, so far more likely to have damaging dirt on the mitt.
Why Use the Microfibre Mop?
Beyond myth‑busting, there are plenty of good reasons to add this mop to your kit:
1. Save time and effort - The flowing water and microfibre pad lift dirt quickly, so you don’t have to keep going back to a bucket.
2. Stay warm in winter - Because you’re not dunking your hands in cold water, you can clean in chilly weather without freezing your fingers
3. Versatility - Swap pads for different tasks: gentle pads for classic cars and soft paint, dual‑action pads for stubborn dirt or insect splatter. The mop isn’t limited to cars – use it on patios, decking, garage doors, caravans, motorhome walls, windows and plastic cladding.
4. Precision cleaning - Attach the mop to an AVA Zoom or Telescopic Lance to reach all of the roof from one side, tall SUVs or motorhomes
5. Durability and sustainability - The microfibre pads are machine‑washable and reusable, and the mop head is built to last with AVA’s typical attention to quality.
How to Use It: A Recommended Washing Process
To get the perfect car clean using the Microfibre Mop, follow AVA’s four‑step cleaning system:
1. Apply the Wheel Cleaner: Apply to each wheel, make sure you apply to cold wheels and DON’T let it dry.
2. Pre‑Wash: Spray a citrus pre‑wash or snow foam over the vehicle to loosen grime removing up to 90% of the dirt
3. Foam Application: Use a foam cannon to apply a lubricating foam layer. The foam acts as a cushion between the mop fibres and the paint.
Agitation with the Microfibre Mop: Start with the top half of the car and work down. Keep the trigger pulled so water flows through the pad at all times. Rinse the pad in a bucket or change to a clean pad when switching from upper to lower parts of the car.
4. Rinse & Protect: Rinse thoroughly, then apply a sealant or wax (for example, AVA Seal & Shine) to protect the finish.
This process, when combined with AVA’s detergents and pads, is cleaner and safer than the traditional mitt‑and‑bucket method. The continuous flow of water through the mop flushes away grit, while microfibre lifts dirt without scratching.
