Can I reduce the pressure on my AVA?
Yes, you can change and reduce the pressure on all AVA high-pressure washers.
By default, all machines come with a Variodyse that can be adjusted between high pressure (20-degree spread), medium pressure (60-degree spread), and a combination of these, which provides lower pressure.
With this solution, the full water flow is maintained, so you can work efficiently even with lower pressure.
Different Methods to Change Pressure:
There are two common ways to lower the pressure on a high-pressure washer. One way is to reduce the power of the pump, and the other way is to make the water jet wider.
With the first method, the water flow decreases when the pressure is reduced. This means you spend more time if you reduce the pressure. Half as much pressure usually means half as much water, and it can take 75% longer.
With a Variodyse, for example, you can make the spread wider, from 20 to 60 degrees. This reduces the pressure hitting the surface to about one-third, but you retain the same amount of water and thus the same efficiency.
In this case, you can work much faster on a moderately dirty surface.
AVA offers a wide range of nozzles, so you can always work efficiently.
When using our fixed nozzles, this can be a good guide for their uses:
- 60-degree nozzle: On wood
- 40-degree nozzle: On car
- 25-degree nozzle: Can be used on most surfaces
- 15-degree nozzle: Lots of power but has a narrow work field. Used where extra power is needed
- 0-degree nozzle: Extreme power and long range. Can be used to increase reach, e.g., up to a gutter.
